Timber conservatory repair and hand-painted finish
Weathered glazing beads and failing paint on a timber conservatory, scraped back, repaired and repainted entirely by hand in Sikkens Rubbol Satura — with no masking tape.
The problem
Years of weather had taken their toll. Paint was cracking and lifting along the lower glazing beads, and failed material had built up where the timber meets the glass — the areas that take the most rain and sun.
Preparation
Every loose and failed area was scraped back by hand to sound material, then the beads and frames were repaired and prepared so the new coating had a solid surface to bond to. Good preparation is what makes an exterior finish last.
The finish
The frames were finished in Sikkens Rubbol Satura, a premium exterior satin for timber. All cutting-in was done freehand with a brush — no masking tape — giving crisp, clean lines against the glass, seals and hardware.
